During COP30, the Igarapé Institute, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Rockefeller Foundation launched “De-risking Amazonia” to unlock green finance in the region. The project has three main areas: 1) increasing knowledge about risks and opportunities; 2) encouraging innovations, such as risk management using AI; and 3) strengthening responsible institutions and entrepreneurs.

The IDB presented the AmazoniaForever360+ platform, which aids in planning and monitoring sustainable investments. The Igarapé Institute officially launched the Green Bridge Facility (GBF), which provides territorial risk management and strategic support to overcome barriers like complex regulations, insecure land tenure, and risks arising with illicit economies.

Over the next two years, the Igarapé Institute, the IDB, and Rockefeller will work together to generate positive socioeconomic impact, achieve zero deforestation, and promote a green economy, where territorial de-risking is essential for attracting investors by reducing all kinds of risks, including reputational ones.
