The Green Bridge Facility – GBF (“GBF”)¹, acting as Operator and responsible for the technical and operational management of the KYT-e Platform (Know Your Territory), adopts this Cookie Policy (“Policy”) to explain how and why it uses Cookies and similar technologies on its Platform.

This Policy should be read in conjunction with the KYT-e Platform’s Privacy Policy.

¹The Green Bridge Facility (GBF) is a project incubated under the Igarapé Institute (CNPJ 14.051.935/0001-01), and is responsible for the technical and operational management of the KYT-e Platform. For the purposes of this Policy, the GBF acts as a strategic Operator affiliated with the Institute, under the terms of Article 5, item VII, of Law No. 13,709/2018 (LGPD), carrying out processing activities on behalf of and under the sole responsibility of the Igarapé Institute, which remains the sole Controller to the data subjects and the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files or equivalent technologies stored on the User’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when they access the Platform.

They are used to ensure the proper functioning of the Service, improve the browsing experience, and provide statistical or marketing information, as detailed in this Policy.

2. Types of Cookies Used

The KYT-e Platform may use the following types of Cookies:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Essential for the Platform’s operation and to allow for secure and authenticated browsing. Without them, certain services may not function correctly.
  • Performance and Statistics Cookies: Collect information on how Users utilize the Platform (e.g., pages visited, time spent), which enables performance improvements.
  • Functionality and Preference Cookies: Allow the Platform to remember User choices (such as language, areas of interest, saved locations), which personalizes the experience.
  • Marketing and Tracking Cookies: Used to present more relevant content and targeted advertising, when implemented (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar).

Session cookies automatically expire upon quitting the browser.

Persistent cookies (such as those for preferences or marketing, when implemented) may be stored for up to 12 months unless the User deletes them beforehand or revokes their consent.

3. Purposes and Legal Basis

The KYT-e Platform uses cookies for legitimate, specific, and clearly disclosed purposes:

  • To ensure the Platform functions properly (legal basis: contract execution, Article 7, item V, LGPD).
  • To track usage metrics and analyze performance (legal basis: legitimate interest of the Controller, Article 7, item IX, LGPD).
  • To personalize the User experience (legal basis: consent, Article 7, item I, LGPD, where applicable).
  • To support digital marketing strategies, when consent is given (legal basis: consent, Article 7, item I, LGPD).

The use of cookies based on legitimate interest will adhere to the principle of minimization, ensuring that it does not involve the excessive or disproportionate collection of personally identifiable data.

4. Cookie Consent

Strictly necessary cookies are enabled by default since they are essential for using the Platform.

Additionally, consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary will be collected on a granular basis through a banner displayed upon the first visit. This can be managed later in a specific panel provided by the Platform, as well as in the browser settings.

It should be emphasized that the User can withdraw consent at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of any processing done up to that point.

5. Cookie Management

Users can manage their preferences directly in their browser settings or in the cookie management dashboard provided on the KYT-e Platform.

The user should be aware that it is possible to block all cookies except those that are strictly necessary. However, certain platform features may be affected.

6. Third-Party Cookies

Certain cookies may be set by external providers (e.g., Google, Meta, Hotjar).

In these cases, the collection and use of information follow those third parties’ own policies, and it is the User’s responsibility to check their specific conditions.

GBF does not control third-party cookies and assumes no responsibility for their operation, but ensures they will only be implemented with the User’s proper notification and consent.

In addition to the examples mentioned, the KYT-e Platform may eventually integrate other third-party analytical or tracking tools, always with prior notification and collection of User consent, when required by law.

Additionally, the KYT-e Platform may contain links that direct the User to external websites not operated by GBF.

The User should be aware that such sites have their own privacy and cookie policies, and GBF is not responsible for their content, practices, or terms. We recommend that the User carefully read the applicable policies of each site they visit.

7. Changes

GBF may change this Cookie Policy at any time to reflect technological, regulatory, or operational changes. Relevant changes will be communicated to the User via a message on the Platform.

8. Contact

If questions arise about this Policy or the use of Cookies, the User may contact GBF’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
